This head works great on every surface I've tried it on: hardwood, tile, rugs, and low-pile carpets. I imagine it would work fine for deep-pile carpet as well, but I don't have any to test. The only real con is that you have to buy this separately, but since this is a review of the add-on itself, it seems unjust to dock stars—it's an excellent upgrade for owners of the Olympus, which to my knowledge is the only Miele that includes the cheapo head. I needed this as a replacement part for my home care s8. I own a cleaning business, and my original house had a wire snap inside that was not reparable.

This happened after almost 3 years. It was still usable, but I could not turn the rotator brush on while vacuuming. So this is the replacement. It works just as well as the original. I will try to keep the handle and house from swiveling too much as this is what cut the last wire.This seller had the best price I found online and with free shipping. The shipping was rather slow however, so if you need it fast you might want to pay for shipping.

I think I received mine in about 2 weeks. I will be honest here. I don't really clean. My wife is a little bit of a neat freak though and she is working hard to convert me! We have used Miele vacuums for a long time (14+ years) and recently bought a second one. We had a frustration with the dryer vent in particular and were always trying to get it properly cleaned out. I mean the one on the dryer istelf where you clean out the filter each time you use it.

We have dogs and especially when you wash the towels and beds from the dogs, you can get a lot of hair and dirt that might make it past the washer into the filter. We got this tool specificallly for that and since it arrived have found a dozen additional places to clean with it! This helps to. 8/19/2010Bought mine from seller 'Mr.Vac & Mrs.Sew' (about the 5th time now as of 6/3/2012), came as advertised and on time.$19 for a box of 4 bags and 2 filters, which average out to $4.75 per bag. I was considering the third party bags at about $2.6 per bag, but read that they are thinner and made in China instead of Germany. The law of nature is that most times, you get what you pay for. Got the Miele Capri vacuum, the bag that came installed, same as these bags, WOW, looks like an expensive pillow.12/7/2010 (UPDATE)I'm still using the original bag that came with the vacuum and the bag changing gauge on the vacuum is still not telling me to change it yet.

It's either the bag is soooo large, or I'm just a clean person where there's not much dirt to pick up:^) Looks like one box.
