Total War Warhammer Faction Tier List
Total War: Warhammer's races are definitely getting wackier. Why Warhammer 2's Tomb Kings are Total War's strangest faction yet. The king of Tomb Kings – and filling his army with six trash-tier Skeleton units, and four. The Mortuary Cult's shopping list includes trade resources (gems, spices, iron, etc.).
Welcome to!A subreddit for all of those who love the Total War series. Last time I did a video for this topic was back in November of 2018, soon after the Vampire Coast released.
Total War Warhammer 2 has changed a lot since then, so I thought it would be a good time to see which units have shifted in and out of the meta and which are considered top tier for their respective factions. Many of the old gold medalists have been changed substantially or nerfed/others buffed over the last year and half, so its been interesting to see how things have changed for each race, and how some units still wear the crown.Like last time, Versatility, Cost efficiency, Utility, Battlefield performance, and Whether or not they are a Staple of their faction are still the baseline criteria for deciding which units earn the top spot.
A unit doesnt need to have all these characteristics be super top tier, but they all factor into the 'equation'.No Regiments of renown, no lords, no heroes, just pure, unchevronned, vanilla units. And while this list can still be useful for campaign, its based off custom battle and multiplayer, because Campaign has so many more confounding variables that completely change the baseline output of a unit. Its difficult to talk relative unit viability in a mode where you can recruit full stacks of tier 5 monsters, when you’ve got buildings and economy that factor in, and Lord specific unit buffs and all these synergies that stack battlefield bonuses into the stratosphere.I obviously walk through my reasoning for all my picks in the video, but if anyone would like me to go more in depth with why certain units were picked, I'll do my best to explain here. Timestamps are as follows -Beastmen 1:50Bretonnia 3:55Dark Elves 5:35Dwarfs 8:03Empire 10:05Greenskins 12:24High Elves 14:05Lizardmen 16:05Norsca 17:52Skaven 20:18Tomb Kings 23:05Vampire Coast 24:53Vampire Counts 26:55Chaos 29:33Wood Elves 31:24. Yeah this is why tackling this subject for campaign is kind of problematic. There are ways to do it where you're taking much more into consideration than purely 'what is the best unit', but it becomes WAAAY more subjective than even this list was, because you're no longer talking about what the base unit is capable of.
You're talking about stacking buildings so your Waywatchers have 150 missile damage, so your monsters have 1000+ weapon strength, red skill trees, legendary lord buffs and upkeep reductions and a million different variables that cant truly all be accounted for. Variables that completely change what a unit can do or how appealing they are.For High Elves, the best stack pretty much IS like 18 Star Dragons and some healing casters, the best stack for Norsca IS 19 Mammoths, maybe not literally but thats essentially the crux of it. If you're talking 'best' unit in campaign, where each army has no cap on funds to be allocated to it, it kind of comes down to whatever has the best stats and the most hp, and that generally means single entity spam of whatever the factions strongest monster is.Supply lines REALLY needs to get reworked more, the mechanic puts a huge krumping on factions like Vampire Counts and the like who should really be encouraged to build as many armies of cheap fodder as possible. They've taken some steps in the right direction with upkeep techs for Zombies and Skellies and such, but I think more needs to be done so that players dont feel the need to Doomstack with single entity monsters and Heroes just to get good value. For High Elves, the best stack pretty much IS like 18 Star Dragons and some healing casters,Ehhhhhh the best stack by far for High Elves is Sisters of Averlorn really.
They can handle almost anything the game can throw at them as long as they're on the offensive with Lightning Strike (which is relatively easy to obtain) and can isolate armies. They're infinitely more cost efficient than Star Dragons too so the stonking cost of the star dragon stack looks really bad when you could have three armies of sisters instead. But then as you said it's all very messy in campaign when there's a tonne of variables that change how factions and units work. Dark Elf Spiteful Masters. Lizardmen Pompous Heroes/Lords. Beastmen Nurgle Foul Sink Heroes/Lords. High Elf Sisters of Avelorn. Norsca Mammoths.
Chaos Shaggoths. Vampirates Necrofex. Skaven Clan Skryre(lol). Vampires 7-9 Lore Keeper Heroes then as many Disciplined/Knowledgeable as you can find/afford. Tomb King T5 constructs your armies specialize however.
Greenskins Black Orcs. Bretonnia Royal Hippos, but you can doomstack with Paladins/Grails if you get bored.
Wood Elf Waywatchers. Dwarf Ironbreakers? Your doomstacks don't stack a unit however.
Pretest immunology pdf. It is one of the most famous publications of medical short books that are used particularly for USMLE and generally for all exams. BRS Stands for Boards Review series.
Empire N/A Your doomstacks don't stack a unit. You will have slight variations of these between people especially where they rank on the totem pole but the list will gravitate towards Single Entities/best archers in the game. I feel like Vampire Coast has the most bad units.Deck Gunners, Fell Bat Bombers, Hand Cannons, Animated Hulks, and Depth Guard Halberds are all pretty trash, Bloated Corpses are Memes, and Queen bess is incredibly situational. Not to mention lore of the deep is pretty meh.Every competitive match you always see the same set ups for coast, deck hands, halberds, gun line of pistoliers or handgunners, maybe a cannon or mortar, some dogs, caster with vampire lore. One or 2 units of depth guard, maybe some crabs or mournghoul.

I liked VC the most of the game one races, but WH2 has seen them mutilated into something a TT fan wouldn't recognize. I don't hate them, but they're not particularly fun to play anymore.
WoC is probably an unpopular pick, but I find them enjoyable in the Order Tide meta. Raiding south until I meet too much opposition, then retreating into the Chaos wastes to build new armies with my built up favor before launching a new invasion. Hordes might not be implemented well, but they do offer a nice change of pace. I just wish stupid Wulfrik the Neverchosen would stop confederating my vassals. WTF dude? - Hard to choose between these three for top

15. Dark elves - edited May 7Thanks everyone for your responses. I've also done a little experiment while watching at your answers. I've looked at your profile picture and compared with your favourite/s faction to see whether they match or not.
Out of 26 valid answers, 18 people uses a profile picture that corresponds to their most prefered/favourite faction, which is a 69,23%. That means that the next time you see someone using a banner or image of X faction, chances are, they really like such faction!
